Her research interests include women&#8217;s history, history of sexuality and history of medicine in Ireland\/Northern Ireland and she has&nbsp;published widely in these areas.&nbsp;With Dr Elaine Farrell (QUB), she has been working on the AHRC funded project&nbsp;<strong>&#8216;Bad Bridget: Criminal and Deviant Irish Women in North&nbsp;America, 1838-1918&#8217;<\/strong>. They have produced a&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/podcasts.apple.com\/gb\/podcast\/bad-bridget\/id1542804827\">five part podcast series<\/a>&nbsp;on the project, an&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ulsteramericanfolkpark.org\/whats-on\/bad-bridget\">exhibition<\/a>&nbsp;at the&nbsp;National Museums NI, Ulster American Folk Park in Omagh and an Irish Times #1 bestselling book,&nbsp;<em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.penguin.co.uk\/books\/446640\/bad-bridget-by-mccormick-elaine-farrell-and-leanne\/9781844885817\">Bad Bridget: Crime, mayhem and&nbsp;the lives of Irish emigrant women<\/a><\/em>. This will be the topic of our talk.
