May Meeting

Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, 13th May at 7:00 pm in the Armagh Observatory Library.

Our speaker this month is Uel Wright and his talk is entitled:

The Brontes in Ireland.

Uel was born into a farming family in the rolling Drumlins of South Down, between Rathfriland and Newry. He attended Newry Grammar School before studying Horticulture and Landscape Design in York. A keen genealogist Uel has published four family histories and several papers on his ancestor Dr William Wright author of ‘The Brontes in Ireland.’

Uel’s talk will examine reasons why the Irish part of the Bronte story remains largely ignored and provide fresh insights into William Wright, who he was and why his contribution to the Bronte in Ireland story has been gaining traction in recent years.
